I would suggest selling some merchandise like t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. Then people could feel like they are donating/helping out with the site and it would have the secondary effect of advertising the site.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve done some other sites in which I “sold” stuff and it turned out to be more of a maintenance issue than it was worth. Plus I don’t want to have to charge sales tax and collect that, pay that bla bla bla.
Unlike UFN, the site for me isn’t designed to make money, though I put a couple of ads on it to see if it can pay its own way. That said, anyone who turns down an opportunity to make money is either way too rich or dumb. Maybe I’ll have a fundraiser! Wife needs a boob job! LOL
