OC coaches for red zone execution, or DB coaches for the secondary play?Watching Colorado, Washington, and USC’s corners there’s a big difference between a good physical secondary and Utah’s secondary. Utah ranked 91st in number of pass plays allowed beyond 10yrds, 118th beyond 20yds, and it gets worse, Utes allowed 3 completions of 70+yrds, 4 was the most only allowed by ASU, Kansas St, and Nebraska.

Red zone scoring Utah ranked 115th…

Granted, the coaches need better play calling, but we’ve seen from video tape analysis that a lot of the problems were simply execution.  See Troy Williams not hitting the gap video against CU.  See Zach Moss not following his pulled blocker against Cal. See Troy Williams sailing a 5 yard pass to Moeai against Cal when he could have waltzed in behind a Moeai directed block.  It was all about thinking on your feet in the moment and it wasn’t there.  Coach’s can reinforce that, but they can’t execute it.

I agree, plus troy had some red zone fumbles, one for sure against Oregon and I think another against Washington. The plays were there to be made.

Give the defense a pass. One of the top secondaries in takeaways.

The offense is so unimaginative that early in the season a QB draw with Huntley at QB was their solution.
