Mop up time against a team that quit. He was supposedly fresh and ready to redeem himself and he was tapping his helmet after a few carries. He would have had a 100!

He obviously did something that resulted in his first half benching, then followed it up with a very weak performance. He could be sick, regardless, there are players behind him eager to take advantage of coaching, training, nutrition, reps and overall opportunity.
Until I see otherwise, he is in the way and I am overjoyed with with the players…[Read more]

I’ll add some support to your claim. First, there aren’t many 5* recruits – only about 30 per year. Championships are built on 4*s. Most of your recruiting class needs to be 4*s. Teams pulling in full clases of 4*s also get the 5*s. George, Alabama and tOSU snag practically all of the 5*s, rest 4s. Next tier like LSU, Michigan, they will get…[Read more]

Someone from the tailgate lot, please report.

I’ve been astounded by the difference between targeting this year vs previous years. All games, all conferences. We’re back to football!
Blocking below the waist outside the tackle box is the big emphasis now.

I stopped watching and caring when John and Karl left. Tried to hang on but pussies like Boozer came along and it steamrolled from there. Now it’s nothing but more pussies, posers and political activist.

….And I’m worried our defense is a bit undersized this year.
Their coach is a bit undersized.
If I’m Florida, that’s my worry. He has a roster of 4 stars and a 90k crowd that expects a win.
No one is thinking about the gigantic step Napier and staff just took from Ragin Cagin ball to the biggest of the big leagues.
Florida expects a win…[Read more]

Surround Cam with the same offensive talent and coaching Wynn and Wilson had to play with and I think at best we would see very little margin of improvement or results.

The hot shot G5 coach leap to P5 failure rate is significant. I used Whitt because all of us have seen first hand his struggles. Of course Whitt would have ramped up faster in the UCLA example, but still had to ramp up.
Petersen would have been a better example – a coach who actually became successful at the P5 level but got his butt kicked…[Read more]

Florida has a new coaching staff, rich with G5 experience gained from a handful of years dominating the Sun Belt conference with the Ragin’ Cajuns. HC/OC and one of the Co-DCs, all Cajuns. The other Co-DC is a 20-year job jumper who may or may not be worth anything.
These guys are going to get their pants coached off.
Remember how badly Whitt…[Read more]

No “we” don’t. This is the beginning of the end of college football. My Crimson Club dues already go towards scholarships and stipends. I am not paying out more to give a player 25k a year on top of that.
College football is dying faster than I thought.
Two more fun year’s and that’s it.
89ute replied to the topic Bama wins in the forum Football 2 years, 4 months ago
Disagree. BIG, Pac-12, Big XII, Notre Dame and 1/3 of the ACC play 9 conference games. That’s the majority of P5s. Having Georgia or Alabama play another scrub in the SEC is not going to change the fact that the top teams in the SEC more often than not are the best in the nation. Crying about 8 conference games is just that. Sack up and beat…[Read more]

I don’t think it’s all on Larry. If I remember correctly, practically all the universty’s administrations were behind what some felt were extreme, draconian lock down measures. Without rehashing all that may or may not be behind us, Larry, or anyone for that matter, would have and has been burned at the stake for going against the status quo.…[Read more]

First I believe it’s political. Second, I believe it allowed the universities to sidestep the coup the players were forming thinking they had the conference by the short hairs. Wrong!
I also think there are some universities that want to de-emphasize scholarship sports. This could be the beginning of many schools…[Read more]
