I just really love this team. These guys have been through more than almost any other football team ever, and here they are exceeding expectations. Aaron Lowe’s mother giving these boys permission to play football and have fun while doing it was HUGE for this team.
Coaching: Complaining about Ludwig has always been stupid, but it’s even more apparent now that he is a good OC. The way we switch up our defensive philosophy when we have a decent lead is annoying, but it makes sense when you think about it.
Harding has clearly done an EXCELLENT job with the offensive line since the season started. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an offensive line improve this much through a season. At first they were bad in every possible way. Then they were a little less bad across the board. Then they were competent pass blockers but terrible in run blocking… and now we seem to be solid on all fronts, all while losing a whole bunch of starters. MASTERFUL coaching job by Harding, who I have crapped on for years. I WAS WRONG!
QB: Rising is not perfect but he is the best sophomore QB we’ve had since Alex Smith. He’s a great leader, and he’s going to be a great QB.
RB: Tavion Thomas had a great game. He is running much smarter than he did early in the season, looking more and more like Moss every week. With a full offseason of getting his body and his mind right, he could be special next year. We have at least two other RBs who could have ran for 100 yards this game. Awesome.
WR: Vele is great, but we still don’t have a true deep threat guy. When our TEs are gone next year I really hope our passing game doesn’t take a big step back.
TE: Great performance from those guys, catching and blocking.
OL: Nothing bad to say about these guys, they performed well. I kind of laughed when Bam was able to throw that guy around on that hold when he really only had him by the end of his sleeve. That guy is soooooo big.
DL: I can’t wait for these dudes to be upper classmen. They are going to be phenomenal. Also, I am thoroughly impressed with how much Tafua has improved this year. They had been getting pushed around all year, they stepped it up tonight.
LB: Sewell had a huge game. He belongs in the NFL for sure. He at least deserves to get on a team somewhere.
CB: Fine, one blown coverage from 23, it happens.
S: They did their job
K: Ugh
P: If he wasn’t going to be the starter at QB, he certainly should have been at punter… SHEESH
