Anfernee replied to the topic After attending 392 Ute games I’m done! in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Just a reminder: there’s plenty of parity in college football this year and PLENTY of teams without huge NIL backing that are having very successful seasons. I understand the frustrations. I want give into the hyperbole of “COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS DEAD” nonsense. I’m excited for Morgan as HC. I think the NIL situation and collective bargaining agreeme…[Read more]

LOL, you want me to believe that if Utah comes out firing next season or the season after and is back to their winning ways that you aren’t going to another game ever?
What bull crap. Talk about soft, snowflake, fair weather fans. One bad season and it’s all hell fire and damnation. Good lord, get a grip.

UTE98 started the topic RB/running is the key to a Whitt team, so why so much NIL for QBs? in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
One of my biggest frustrations this year is Whitt forgot what gets his desired results.
TOP – need a great running game.
Tire out the opposing defense – need a good running game.
Long sustained drives – need a good running game.
Score TDs – need a good running game.So let’s looks at a few stats over the years.
Top running backs/yardage

Say it isn’t so. I have had been disgusted with the way we have been losing and I don’t know if I can get used to the new recruiting and transfer situation where money is involved.
The days of recruiting and developing players has changed completely. If you have enough NIL backing you can transfer and recruit in the talent and have a contender…[Read more]

I think you have to judge Whitt primarily based on his current deal. He is going to make like 18-20 million over the next three years? Based on the past two years that isn’t very good value.
I guess you could argue he deserves it. I never understood “deserves”. It is an entirely subjective thing people want to justify using objective reaso…[Read more]

I know it is not fair to do that. But, for a minute – assume that last year was his first season. What would you say/think?
We have lost 7 in a row and that is very bad. But, you know what is worse? Other than the CU game we were in or ahead in the other 6 games. We are finding ways to lose. Just look at Houston, BYU, ASU, TCU, and ISU. We…[Read more]

I finally reached the end. I have finally lost all interest. The direction college football is headed and the direction Utah is headed is not for me anymore.
I attended my first game in 1970 and haven’t missed many home games during that stretch. Some seasons, we’d do 2-3 road games. I’ve only missed one Ute bowl game in my lifet…[Read more] -

Their pops Jared played for BYU. And isn’t the biggest fan either.
“I don’t have any feelings towards wanting BYU to do anything right,” Sam’s dad, Jared Leavitt, said. “I hope it’s a complete disaster for them, that we throttle those guys.” -

You’ll need to talk to my editor about clickbait headlines. I can only be held accountable for the content of my posts which are the most reasonable and levelheaded of any I’ve read on this site

2008 National Champ – “I would have probably thumbed up @AlohaUte above if he hadn’t started the post with “You complete idiots”. Yeah, he’s ready to have a rational discussion.,,”
Interesting response from a guy who started a thread called “Whitt apologists can suck it!”

2021: it would be between #11 Utah and #12 Pitt for the 5th conference autobid. Does the committee still jump 10-3 Utah 6 spots for beating Oregon in the CCG and rank higher than 11-2 Pitt? Bama, Michigan, Cincy & Baylor get the byes.

Everything is a binary choice and he’s the guy making the decisions. We can only evaluate what did happen, not whether a different option would have produced a different outcome.
The problem is that we’re not allowed to have an honest conversation about Whitt. Point out a specific failure and someone will pop up saying “but 20 years of…[Read more]

Regarding the CFP. If the current system had been in place when Utah was winning two Pac-12 titles, then they would have been in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Utah, the new system coincides with the worse season in 22 years.

It’s basically unknowable, but could the season have played out differently if Rose had been named the back up instead on Wilson? At the beginning of the season you play Wilson in garbage time to get him experience to build on, but when Cam gets hurt, I think, in hindsight, you need a back up who has been in the program longer. Of course, Whit…[Read more]

The Pac was badly managed — as demonstrated by its dissolving in 2023. But joining the Pac was Utah’s Jefferson’s moment (movin’ on up). With apologies to the Big 12 — obviously better managed and still extant — the move was a lateral one from one power conference to another, and a bit of a move to a lifeboat (again, apologies to the Big 12,…[Read more]

I think ASU is giving you guys a run for most hated fan base in the Conference. They were a disgrace yesterday. BYU is surprisingly liked by this new league. Give it a few years though, and hopefully we will be most hated again. That would mean that we are winning consistently. Also, the religious bigotry always is a big factor.

1. 16 years ago. This accomplishment is old enough to drive. It’s great, but it’s getting dusty.
2. Thanks to Texas and not being BYU or Boise State. In the timeline where Texas accepts the PAC12 offer, we’re not in a power conference.
3. Genuinely impressive to go back to back in any conference. No critiques, it’s the best thing he has going for…[Read more] - Load More
