I agree, BUT let’s first play with a healthy team like we belong in a B1G conference. Right now, we are a bottom feeder Big12 team in a conference that’s getting disrespected by the CFP and fanbases in the two big conferences. We need to play like we are the pre-season Big12 favorites and the rest will work itself out. Go UTES!

10-3 at halftime vs Arizona.
9-13 at halftime vs ASU.
10-0 at halftime vs TCU.
7-7 at halftime vs Houston.
21-10 at halftime vs BYU.
21-9 at halftime vs Colorado.
17-13 at halftime vs ISU.

We would be undefeated with no change other than Rising at QB.

QB is 100% the issue.

Whitt will 100% make the offense huddle up and run the clock. It is who he is.

If you think Scalley is the future, then it’s time for Whitt to go.

Agreed. I think in hindsight, we gave Barnes way too much slack last year. Last year was of course a ridiculously brutal schedule. Barnes had 5 bad games last year against Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, and Baylor. He didn’t play against UCLA but he would have been bad in that game too. And the question isn’t whether Whit is doing a good job. The question is, would Scalley be doing a better job in the same circumstance? You’d be hard pressed to convince me he would.

I know you may think you are trying to make a point but many schools chase away a coach and then have problems after he leaves.
We can keep denying it or we can believe it is just a series of unfortunate events that has lead Utah to the worst season since 1986. Like a LOT of unfortunate events at this point on top of unfortunate events.

Fatigue was an issue in the first half. Pick 6’s are great but your D goes right back on the field. Same with the ST play where the O went 3 and out, or the punt block.

I don’t think the defense’s fatigue was the issue last night. Other than ISU’s first drive, where they forced a punt, the defense consistently gave up yards all night. I’d blame that on ISU’s good offensive scheme and players, as well as Utah not being as skilled and experienced on defense as in previous seasons.
