2008 National Champ replied to the topic Blame the quarterback in the forum Football 9 months ago
Well, I want to blame the coach that didn’t have someone already in place so that the true freshman QB was not needed but apparently he’s finally left the building. He didn’t empty the trash from under the kitchen sink before leaving though so someone else has to deal with the stink, even if they didn’t make the mess.

Two things.
With Whit.. What would you have done? Of course everything was planned around Cam and Whit wouldn’t been dumb not to. Any coach worth his salt would’ve and should’ve done the same. This is the strangest criticism yet.
For Cam, honestly, the way he’s been treated by Utah “Fans” who questioned his motivation, his integrity and his…[Read more]

When has Northwestern averaged 30 ppg?

We saw his offense in the bowl game last year and I don’t remember being envious. Pretty much the only difference from what Utah was running was not having Barnes at QB.

Don’t know. Maybe there was some kind of “influencing” that happened.

I’m in agreement with others. I think Whit probably approached Ludwig and told him he was denoting him. Either Ludwig offered his resignation as a way to tell Whit he knew he hadn’t produced at the level he should have, or it got contentious and he offered his resignation which Whit accepted. Either way, I am happy with the outcome. Maybe…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic New OC Mike Bajakian at Northwesten in the forum Football 9 months ago
Agree. If this was an offseason hire, the first thing I would do is look at what his offenses have done and post it for all to interpret however they chose. When did information become a bad thing?
He was the OC for a lot of bad Northwestern offenses. And if the rest of this season is an audition for the 2025 OC job, it will be very relevant…[Read more]

I agree that Lander doesn’t look like he did in the past, but the sample size with Karene back is so small I don’t feel like I can say one way or the other. The LBs looked significantly better yesterday than they have for a while, and I hope that the improvement continues.

I am hearing rumors that the bald guy. The QB analysis guy Mike Bajakan is taking over as OC.
I looked up Northwestern stats for when he was the play called 2020-2023:
Northwestern averaged 23 ish PPG in 2020, 16ish in 2021, 13.8 in 2022 and 22.1 in 2023

I honestly think the LB play is down beyond not having Reid. Lander for whatever reason(injury from last season, bulked up too) much seems a bit slower and less athletic. He’s also made some really bad reads and lost contain.

Yeah, but if you resign your contract is rendered null and void. By resigning, Ludwig, at 61+, would be walking away from close to ~$5.5M. That’s a tough ask.

anybody blaming a true freshman QB needs to check themselves and just leave their fanhood at the door as they leave.

You never know. Maybe this will be the shock treatment that was required to resuscitate the cadaver known as Utah football.

Well, I would shit myself if they jogged out Huard against Houston and slung the rock 40 times out of spread set with Kuithe flexed to flanker. So I think the Imodium stock should remain stable.

IMO it was probably a case of resign or get fired. Resigning looks better.

I think we all will honestly. I don’t think it’s going to happen though.

It’s only conjecture on my part, but what I imagine happened is that Whitt told Lud that he was demoting him and Lud told him the old Johnny Paycheck song. It’ll be interesting to see if Lud gets his buyout since, by resigning, he shouldn’t get anything.

I’m going to lose my shit if now, all of sudden, Utah starts averaging 30+ plus points a game and rips off a five-game winning streak to close out the season.

The WR wildcat (at least for the first down) was a very similar formation and play to what Penn St. used to score two touchdowns in the Rose Bowl. We aren’t very physical off of the LOS, and we struggle when there is a lead block. Both of these pays (and most of AZ’s running lays) exploited that.
(TCU) (PSU)…[Read more]

Everyone gets a pass in my mind, Cam and frustrated fans alike. Top level college NIL is simultaneously just and ridiculous. A quarterback like Cam, especially when he is leading the team to Rose bowls, is generating a ton of revenue and he deserves a piece of the pie. Then something as small as a basic finger injury happens and the optics change…[Read more]
