Tuttle committed and it sounds like Drue Jackson may be coming as well. Utes have much of a shot with any of these other guys?
Penei Sewell seemed like he wanted to leave the state, but since he was injured, I wonder if the big boys have backed off a little.
Schleker, I do believe, just decommitted from Iowa St. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t commit this weekend.
Sewell is exactly the type of in-state kid Utah needs to start pulling in.
Nice. Sewell would be an awesome pickup. Would love to see Ezeike stay in state as well, but if I’m a highly recruited tight end, no way am I coming to the U right now. I can’t imagine our tight ends have had more than 10 targets all year.
I do think that Ezeike isn’t a true TE. He would flourish in Taylor’s offense. He is more a WR in a TE’s body. Think Devon Funchess at Michigan a few yrs ago.
I just read somewhere that there are currently 6 players from Utah on the Stanford team, so if Ezeike or Sewell have Stanford on their short list this will be an even bigger game than I originally thought, would be nice to keep them in state.
I wish Stanford went back to pre-Jim Harbaugh years when they were a terrible football program. That’s just a school that you don’t say no to when they come knocking. They come knocking on Utah’s door every year now.
That’s just a school that you don’t say no to when they come knocking.
Amen to that. If my kid was holding a scholarship offer from both schools, as die-hard a fan as I am, I’d be hard pressed to make a case why they should go to Utah.
It would be great to win Penei Sewell. One of the top offensive line prospects in the nation. But with Alabama and USC in the mix, I doubt he’ll choose Utah.
