The first schools made their announcements in June, and the decisions continued into July, as dozens of NCAA Division III schools have announced that they will not be fielding their sports teams this fall.

Just a matter of time I’m afraid.

Just a hunch: those schools that have stopped fall football already are those that generally lose money each year on football.  (Unpopular opinion: football shouldn’t be played in locations where it loses money.  It is a drain on the educational mission of that school.)

Now the main point: it is much different when schools that make LOTS of money halt fall football.  It could happen for sure, but that is when the news is relevant to the U.

I don’t know why that’s an unpopular opinion, but you’re right.
