Nice shot of the destruction.  It blows my mind – that they allowed houses to be built there.

The absolute greed of the State, City and builders is astounding. This is a worst case scenario but the corruption going on in this State when it comes to building is disgusting. Many people that don’t have their houses swept away are left with a useless house after trusting people to do their jobs. Warranties are useless. Ivory being one of the worst I have personally experienced.

We signed a contract with a builder and relocated to Utah expecting to break ground 2-3 months after we arrived.  8 months after coming to Utah and enduring many “delays” we found out that the lot we entered into a contract on wasn’t even part of the subdivision and the landowner still hadn’t agreed to sell.

Ultimately 20+ families were screwed out of their homes (even the lots the developer had secured) and the builder just canceled their contracts leaving a few families who had sold their homes and were renting priced out of buying new homes due to how much prices had risen.  I was told later by one of the families that tried to stick it out that the builder basically said “I can sell that house for 1.2M why would I build it for you for $800K”?

        So Shady.

Sadly, this also closed off Clark’ trail, which is my favorite Corner Canyon climb.
