Mainly, how’re you feeling about the Wazzu and Oregon games? Pre USC, I thought of Wazzu as a toss-up, but I’m feeling more confident about this game now. My opinion of the Oregon game hasn’t changed, it is still going to be a tall order to beat them in Eugene. The rest (Arizona, Stanford, Colorado) should still be wins — Arizona is much improved, but we play them at home.
What’re your thoughts? How has your win-loss prediction / perception of the team changed post USC?
Total homer reply coming up… We have 2 more losses than I thought we’d have. I admit it.
Not so fast, Tony. I thought we’d be undefeated right now. Honestly.
I didn’t not think our D would be below average by Utah standards. With an average D, we beat Florida. Charbonnet would have gotten his, but maybe that’s only 100 yards at UCLA with a win.
I expected a loss at Oregon or a WTF loss somewhere in there to go 11-1.
A lot of this was discussed in chat, but this was our year to make a splash and we fell short. I’ve accepted that now and want these guys to get back to the rose bowl. I’m not sure we will but that’s the hope and the goal now.
Love how we battled USC given our deficiencies, btw. Had we lost the game, I still would have said going for two was the right call.
Thought we would be 11-1 with a loss at Oregon.
Now I think we will be 9-3 with a loss at Oregon.
Honestly, we are 2 plays away from being undefeated. 1 interception at the goal line in Gainesville and 1 rouging the passer against UCLA.
It’s a pretty big stretch to say Utah wins if no roughing call at UCLA. At best Utah gets the ball down 3 with 11 minutes left. Utah had two drives after that point which did not result in points while giving up another TD.
Sometimes you just accept you got beat and move on instead of trying to what-if. Especially when there are multiple threads since Saturday making fun of USC blaming the refs. Or the years of making fun of the parochial school fans trying to justify their losses.
Wazzu is a good opportunity to get a second road win prior to Oregon. I am also not even worried about Zona or Furd. So Utah should be riding a lot of momentum going into Autzen.
While Oregon has been playing a lot of football to get to the Utah game. Fatigue could set in.
Massey’s end of season simulation points to 4 wins as most probable.
Last night I dreamed we lost to Wyoming because one of their fans and two guys in bear suits ran onto the field and intercepted cam rising on the last play of the game. There was also an old lady on the field. So I guess you could say I’m feeling pretty confident.
“Bubbles” is back! Damn I miss that woman…
Bubbles had the shimmy move down.
This gave me a morning smile. Thank you.
