This guy is no nonsense. What a great hire.
I’m with you. I’m hoping that Coach Smith will be able to get this self-proclaimed fair weather basketball fan back in the Huntsman Center soon. Let’s get that upper deck opened back up.
Also fair weather when it comes to basketball. I was one of the 6 students in the MUSS during the Boylen rebuild and stuck through that. Lost interest in basketball as a whole as I got older.
I think that’s a function of life and work. Football is easier to keep tabs on and support – I’m lucky enough to have Saturday’s off and I always know when game day is. Seems to be more media and information on football. Coworkers are more interested in football on the average. 247 puts out mostly football coverage. It’s just easier and the trajectory of the program and recruiting has been stellar for Whitt.
From what I’ve read, this seems to be a good hire. I like that he’s got proven college experience over AJ and JB…I guess folks were really excited about their upside? Either way I’m hoping to get back on the basketball train with this one.
The Boylen era was great for my family. I could get my whole family in for $5 a piece and then we could move up inside row 15 sometimes.
This is his 3rd stop as HC. Made South Dakota a solid team, made USU a solid team. He will absolutely do that for the Utes. He’s proven more so than the other candidates that he can win games.
How am I fairweather ? I’ve been off the Larry K train for 2 years now. Wanted Alex first. Once he said no Craig Smith would have been my best choice.
Not you, 54…me.
He can coach. He’s not yet a proven recruiter which is critical in the PAC. Here’s to hoping he can bring in some big time recruits.
I think getting Queta to Logan is something. He identified him, and made him a player.
