It seems BYU has a number of players that aren’t showing up to fall camp.

There are two lines of thought, it seems.  One, Kalani is “cleaning house” or two, some players are disenchanted with the program.

Two or three of these players are rumored to end up at Utah.  I have no idea, but there is some speculation to that in the thread. May be just paranoia.

I don’t know how you get better if players don’t show up to camp.

Do they even have “a number” of players that could make our roster?

These three guys are not in BYU’s fall camp for various reasons:

Joe Tukuafua – tight end – Utah offer

Ula Tolutau – running back – Utah and Wisconsin offers

Jeremiah Ieremia – linebacker – Washington and Oregon State offers

Not saying any of these guys end up at Utah, but they did have some decent offers.  They are also some of BYU’s better recruits and their worry that they do end up at Utah highlights the state of the programs.  We also have benefited in a number of instances where a player that initially chose BYU ends up at Utah.  Star Lotulelei, Mika Tafua, and hopefully Francis Bernard are recent and current examples.

Here’s a third line of thought: they are in a death spiral.
