Bummer indeed. He had a great game against UCLA. Guessing he wants more playtime somewhere else. Glad he got his degree and is working towards another.

Ouch. That’s a major hit to the depth at safety. That was one of the deepest units on the team before his transfer. I sure hope it doesn’t force a change in the game plan like Brandon Cox’s transfer last year did for the quarterbacks.

He was third string coming out of spring ball. He deserves to start. It shows how deep we are at safety. I think we have 4 open scholarships right now. It wouldn’t shock me to see us pick up another kid or two.

Assuming that you’re refering to Ballard as the first string free safety, who was second in the spring? Or were you also counting Chase Hansen?

We have Blair coming in and Afia had a great spring. Afia passed him up.
