Three of our best players on offense were tight ends – so Ludwig moved to a three tight-end set.  Our offensive game plans are much different than 2019.  I appreciate that Ludwig has altered his style based on what he has available.  So many times I have seen coaches try to fit players into a plan that does not work for them.

Guessing we’ll see more of the TEs split out as well. The Morris kid after Utah’s boot camp adding weight and learning the Utah way with his size and agility is going to be a dangerous hybrid WR/TE. KW has established the sixth sense finding these hungry, committed, hard working kids all in to the process.

honestly, the tight end specialty is the perfect answer to Utah’s receiving woes. It really is. Gives us receiving targets that are difficult for other teams to defend (that we wouldn’t have otherwise because we can’t recruit super athletic/big WRs), it gives us another option in the run game, they are better run blockers than WRs, and it makes it more difficult for defenses to guess run or pass.

Also, we have been told the same thing about many previous OCs, we’ve also been told other things that they supposedly do, or plan on doing… and we have never seen any of those things actually happen, until now.

Take Troy Taylor for example. What a joke. Said his offense was like an iphone or some other ridiculous marketing nonsense. Said he wanted to get to the point where the QB could turn off the logical part of their brain and just go by instinct or some other stupidass thing. Many of us bought it, and it was awful. What part of running an RPO system, where there are several options every single play makes it easier on the QB?

Ludwig has been the best Whittingham hire by far, and he’s had plenty of great hires at every other position. Ludwig is our most important coach, maybe even more important than Whitt. If Whitt were to disappear tomorrow, we’d still have Scalley, who is essentially a Whitt clone (just a little less careful regarding who he is sending text messages to). The reverse of that is also true if Scalley were to vanish. If Ludwig went away tomorrow we would be up Sh*t creek without a paddle.

RPO is a thing of beauty when executed properly. Problem was the OL couldn’t stay within 3yds of the LOS to save their f**king lives.

lol, that penalty was called so many times on us. It can be useful, but it sure as heck doesn’t simplify things for the QB.
