Matt Wells to Texas Tech

Texas Tech just hired Matt Wells to replace Kingsbury. Good for him, but that sucks for Utah State.

Gary makes more at Utah than Wells made at USU. That’s a tough sell.

I don’t think Gary has a strong desire to be a HC anywhere but Utah at this point in his career. He has a sweet gig right now, making big bucks at his alma mater to basically be a position coach and hang out with some of his best friends.

That’s a lot less than Wells was making

I was just looking at the public Utah salaries website for 2018. It’s always possible that it’s wrong.

 

Anyways Wells was making either 800k or 900k base salary plus whatever bonuses he got this season, I think Andersen would take the job if he had any interest and if his wife was on board.
