Scalley ain’t going to Weber St. He’s too good for that job. If Scalley leaves, it will be for a MWC/ACC/P5 head coaching job.

I don’t agree with you much @Utah but you are 100% correct on this. Scalley to Usu would stink for Utah to.

I don’t think it would as much as it would have 3+ years ago. We just recruit different kids now. Most of the kids we sign now would never even consider USU. 

BUT, one area losing a Scalley would hurt would be with the JC kids. USU does great with them, Scalley does great recruiting them. That would sting.

Scalley wouldn’t be giving us those diamonds in the rough anymore. I am maybe overselling him a little. I also think if he was there he would try for the same stuff we currently do.

At first, I thought, “nah, we don’t have that many diamond in the rough kids anymore.”

Then I thought if Shelley, Dixon, Kuithe…all Texas kids, which Scalley recruits….so maybe we would have to fill a big hole. 

Lets just hope Wells stays or they promote Frost. Ha ha.

Ha ha. Nah, he’s too smart for that. He wants to be Utah’s HC someday. Going to BYU and winning 6-8 games a year won’t get him that job. IF BYU went back to the MWC…then I could see Scalley going there and he’d be amazing there. 

Going to Fresno St or Houston or Memphis or SDSU and winning 10+ per year? Yeah, he’d be first in line for the job.

I think CU is done taking coaches from the MWC.  They’ll take somebody with P5 coaching history.  I do think Wells will be leaving USU for a bigger gig though.  Same for Jay Hill.

So just to be clear, every coach who has won the Pac 12 South has been fired, except Helton – who is going to get fired.

Maybe the reason Whittingham won’t win the division is to save his job.
