New QB commit for the Utes

According to Twitter, TX High School QB Jason Shelley committed to Utah. He is considered short at 5’11” but his skill is undeniable. He has a shot to be a very special College QB.

Interesting the desnews article has him at 5-11 160lbs … hmmmmmmmmmm?
I didn’t bother posting it, I figured the article from from the Texas press is much better.

I’ve seen several comparisons to Vernan Adams of Oregon. If Utah can get that in Shelley I would be ecstatic.

He will be a great addition to the team. He can learn under Troy Williams and Brandon Cox (both SR next year) and Tyler Huntley (SO next year), and hone his craft for a while. He should be a tremendous QB for 2018/2019 and beyond, and will be more like 6′, 205# by then.

FWIW, this is two years in a row that we beat out some very good to get a QB recruit. Whomever recruits Texas did a great job with Jason Shelley.
