Nice to get a commit, but it seems like we have quite a few talented young linebackers. Maybe it’s just me but I’d like to see us get some more talented cornerbacks signed.
One does not necessarily preclude the other. There are plenty of scholarship spots available – and if Owen beats our somewhere ahead of him (or vice versa), there will likely be a spot open due to a transfer. I welcome all the talent we can get.
He is played a lot in the Defensive backfield. Tackles and covers like a DB. This guy is another Lloyd in the making, really athletic and good nose for the ball. I know that is high praise but Lloyd was super raw when he came in. Utah will build on him. He could see time as a safety is what I am saying then grow into a LBer.
Recruits out of Corona Centennial typically turn out to be solid players at the next level & they put a ton of players into the FBS/P5 ranks.
The bonus is this kid is a High IQ individual if Princeton wanted him.
Just looking at his size he seems to be a different sort of backer than we currently have in the young guys. Just like the coaches told him, he’s a Lloyd/Sewell type in terms of coming in having safety type size… he’ll put on weight and be a tackling machine.
Definitely a D Lloyd type. Played CB then safety with he’s atheistic, can move & cover but can tackle & get downfield. Not starting today but great skills to build on.
Yep, he’ll be a project like Lloyd was. But as we all know, it was well worth the wait.
