I think it comes down to these three games:
OSU beats Oklahoma
Auburn beats Alabama
LSU beats Georgia
If that happens and we win out we’re in.
If that’s the case it bothers me that a non-conference champ Alabama with one loss would beat out a Pac-12 champ with one loss.
Unfortunately I think they only put us in if they absolutely have to.
Should it not be the best 4 teams in the CFP?
It should.
if its between the Utes and Tide they should decide based on all time head to head😉
Call me crazy, but if Utah wins out, Bama beats Auburn, LSU and OSU win, I still think we’re in. I think the committee has to take a long reflective pause and decide if they want to put 11-1 non-division, non-conference winner in the 4th position over a 12-1 Pac-12 Champion.
Should the committee do this, it means that the Pac-12 season means nothing, and the Pac-12 will forever be at the bottom of the pile. TBH, I don’t think they’ll do this, esp with the Oregon dude running the show.
TCU could beat the Sooners this coming weekend, too.
Would love to see that and also aTm over Georgia. I can dream!
According to 538 were not dead in the water even if we don’t get favorable chaos.
If Clemson, LSU, OU, OSU and Utah all win out, they think that Clemson, LSU and Ohio State are a lock. They give OU the nod over Utah, but their prediction is 65/35 odds. Whereas with Oregon they have it more if a coin toss, 54/42 favoring OU. Something to consider is that ‘politics’ is probably working in our favor. There will be some pressure on the committee not to leave the pac-12 out so many years in a row.
