California: 3-0 . . . wins vs North Carolina, @ BYU, vs Idaho State; They might trip up against BYU but I doubt it.
Oregon: 3-0 . . . wins vs Bowling Green, vs Portland State, vs San Jose State; Three home games against crappy teams? If they don’t go 3-0 they should fire the entire coaching staff on the spot.
Oregon State: 2-1 . . . wins vs SUU and @ Nevada, loss @ Ohio State; The Beavers are bad, but not so bad that they can’t beat a bad Nevada team(went 3-9 last year) and an FCS team like SUU. Still though, 1-2 and 0-3 are both possibilities.
Stanford: 3-0 . . . wins vs San Diego State, vs UC Davis, @ Notre Dame; San Diego State will probably keep the game interesting, but the only real test will be at Notre Dame.
Washington: 3-0 . . . wins vs Auburn, vs North Dakota, vs BYU; That Auburn game which is being played at a “neutral” site in Atlanta, Georgia is the only potential loss.
Washington State: 3-0 . . . wins @ Wyoming, vs San Jose State, vs Eastern Washington; Strange enough, Eastern Washington is the only opponent I think Wazzu might lose to.
Some good games in there. Oregon non-conf schedule is embarassing. I know ours isn’t anything special, but yikes. Stanford could go 3-0 or 1-2. Washington State could maybe slip up against Wyoming and Cal will have a challenge against both UNC and BYU.
I can’t wait for the season!
FWIW, Oregon had Texas a&m scheduled this season but they backed out just a little over a year ago and were replaced with bowling green which was one of only a handful of available teams.
They play Auburn next year and Ohio st in 2020. Assuming they don’t back out.
We really have no room to talk. Our OOC is dum dum stupid lame.
Well, at least Oregon has a worse non-conference schedule than Utah. Washington State is right there, too (yet WSU has found a way to lose one of those gimme games lately).
I disagree with Stanford, they will go 2-1, and the loss will be against Notre Dame. They were 10-3 last year and have a lot of starters coming back. Plus they only lost by 1 to a frankly terrifying Georgia. I also think Cal will have it’s hands full, not with BYU, but with North Carolina. They weren’t great last year, but they have good athletes and even though it’s a basketball school, they always give the top teams some trouble in the ACC, although I think Cal comes away with the win.
Fair takes, but Cal beat UNC at UNC last year. The Bears will be markedly better this year and UNC has to fly cross country this time. I think Cal wins going away. Stanford very well might lose to Notre Dame, but the Cardinal handled them fairly easily last year.
I think Auburn gets Washington. Basically a home game, 3 time zone difference, early season rust.
Yeah, I’m not hopeful they can pull out the win either. Browning hasn’t been the same since his surgery. I hope they can get them in their own early season rust, as it will make the conference look better and I can’t stand the SEC, but it looks like an uphill battle.
