Stanford throwing deep for a TD with 2 min left, up 38-16?

I was rooting for Stanford today. Good for the Pac-12 and all that. McAffrey had an amazing game.

Then, when Stanford should have been in victory formation on offense with 2:00 minutes left and up 38-16 they run a deep pattern to the end zone. They run the score up to 45-16 with just under 2:00 left. Were they afraid that Iowa was going to score 22 unanswered points in the last 1:45 or something?

The trees lost my respect on that one.

It was a message sent loud and clear to the bowl selection committee. Iowa doesn’t belong in the locker room to clean the jockstraps of Stanford let along on the same playing field.
