U of Pay up at halftime over #3 Gonzaga

Quick lil break from anything zoob related…

U of Pay currently beating #3 Gonzaga at halftime in the semifinal of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational 45-37. As much as I hate them it would be a good win for the conference as we currently aren’t getting much national respect in basketball either…can’t bring myself to cheer for them but if they win then that’s good I guess. Winner gets #1 Duke in the final.

They ended up losing 91-74. Guess they need to pay more for better players.

This game reminds me that, for the next 5 months, BYU-P fans will live vicariously through Gonzaga. This might be the most trying time of year from the local mid-major smack perspective.

Pac-12 not having that great a start in hoops so far, but ASU did beat Miss St (ranked 15 or so) in a tourney a few nights ago and will play USU in the final tonight.

Utah really needs to beat Hawaii tomorrow so they are in the winners bracket.
