Been hearing on the Twittersphere that Urban Meyer is planning to visit with the team sometime before the TDS game in August.
Not sure how to feel about it. On the one hand, it’s kind of a cool nod to see him come back. On the other, controversy tends to follow him, and I think it seems gimmicky on Whittingham’s part. Also, it makes the BYU game look a lot more important than it really is.
What do you all think? Maybe he’s just starting to scout us for when he takes the U$C job next year (TIC).
He’s what put Utah on the map. He’s more the welcome anytime he wants to stop by.
The only bad thing about Urban visiting before the BYU game is the fact that we’re playing BYU.
Urban does have controversy follow him but on the other hand everything he touches turns to gold. Doubt the timing is anything significantly connected to the TDS game.
He worked with Kyle and was a coach here. I have 0 issue with Kyle bringing in a mentor to talk to the guys.
What about the facts that he’s a trash human being, liar, and sweeps things under the rug to win but preached integrity. He’s a hypocrite and garbage. Oh…but everything he touches turns to gold? F**k that.
Bring in Rick Flare.
😆
I mean, who in their right mind would take anyone over Rick Flare.
Jesus christ… the lack of humor in this crowd. Didn’t know i was posting to cougarboard.
Seriously though, Urbs is a piece of trash if you can divorce yourself from his success.
The BYU game is important….if for no other reason than it’s our first game of a season where expectations are high. If we get caught looking ahead, then the season could be over before we even know it. I don’t think we have a reputation for overlooking games, but it has happened at least a couple of times. We have the talent to destroy BYU….and I hope that we come into the game fired up and ready to play.
Despite what some still-bitter Utah fans think, Urban is still very friendly to the Utah program. And I bet if you could pin him down, I think he’d say his time at Utah was one of the best – if not the best – time of his career.
So what? Glad he had agreat time here but his players don’t love him like they do whitt and he’s a bad human. Great at what he does, terrible at being person you’d want your child to grow up to be.

My response…
Hope he hangs around even more. 99% of our fans would be happy to see him. We had another national championship coach wind down with us and it worked out very well, another would be welcomed. This speaks to how close he is to Witt.
How you feel about it? Know ones perfect. Let’s forgive. Be Christlike. Go Utes.
No one is perfect? Really, that’s your argument? I agree. Nobody is perfect but I’m not asking for perfection. I’m asking to basically be a decent person at the very least. Guy is terrible. Read the reports. He was clearly lacking in judgment in the Ohio state mess. He knew of the assistant coach beating his wife for years and did nothing. In fact he persuaded her not to file charges using his wife to help with his dirty work. Most likely knew of the Hernandez shooting in Florida and did nothing. Another person died at Hernandez’s hand years later.
Can you see Whittingham botching any of those things? Urbs sells his soul for wins.
