SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men’s basketball returns home to the friendly confines of the Jon M. Huntsman Center for a three-game homestand starting with the Stanford Cardinal this Thursday, Feb. 2.
The Runnin’ Utes look to record their first season sweep of the Cardinal since joining the league at 6 p.m. (MT) on Pac-12 National/Bay Area/Mountain.
The Utes sit outside the bubble at the moment with four Quadrant 1 games remaining on the regular season schedule.
Very much need to win the games this week (as either one would be a rather bad lower quadrant loss, would Cal be quad 3 or 4)? Hopefully Gabe is ready to go.
Cal will be a Quadrant 4 game.
What about Colorado? Figure only a 3 in Salt Lake, but possibly 2 in Boulder. They have played well in Boulder, but lost some road games to really weak teams.
I believe they are currently a 2 in both places
Colorado at home will be a Quadrant 2 game, in Boulder Quadrant 1.
Of course, NET rankings are fluid as the season progresses.
@Colorado drops to Quadrant 2
Utes with another stinker of a first half. Still haven’t recovered from the beating Oregon gave them last Saturday. Currently getting blown out by Stanford at halftime. Lose this and you can pretty much kiss goodbye any shot at the Dance.
Yeah, the Dance is essentially out the door. The only way back in would be with some big wins. Likely need to go minimum of 2-2 against the Arizonas and the SoCal schools to even sniff a chance. At this point, the 3 seed seems to be falling out of reach, so I’d rather take the 5 seed and get the warm up game against a Cal or OSU before taking on someone with the likes of Oregon ASU or USC
