Kevin Sumlin comes on and says, “the first thing I asked Tate is if he wants to be an athlete that plays QB or a QB who is also an athlete”
Sure, if you want to make an effort to develop the pure passing aspect of his game in camp and in practices while very slowly and tediously adjusting your gameplan to implement elements as the season progresses. That could be a good thing to do. Coming out game 1 and structuring the entirety of your offensive gameplan around this skill you are trying to develop is bad. It would be bad if they opened with an FCS team. But they actually played an average fbs opponent.
I am late to this but I would like to formally welcome Kevin Sumlin to the conference. Really excited to have you coach!
