Sounds like Jackson is hurt and Costelli is redshirting making Barnes QB3.
Oline still is not at full strength
No idea what the injury is right? Whitt keeps those cards closer to his chest than his own chest hair.
I hope Jackson heals up well and quickly!
He’ll usually say what it is if it’s season ending.
If the o-line is a weakness once again this season, Harding needs to get the Holliday treatment.
Harding put 4 of our Oline in the NFL draft in 2017, all in the same year. Beyond being an incredible feat, he has deserved the many years he has had to rebuild. That said, it has been exhausting for the oline to be hyped up preseason only to ultimately let us down the past few years. While I still think Harding is a good coach and hope he’s successful sooner than later, no coach gets a free pass forever either. But I don’t think he’s at the end of his rope just yet.
Jackson’s injury apparently not serious.
Because Harding is in charge of getting everyone hurt?
The All leading rusher in school history ran behind his oline
Huntley set completion percentage records behind his oline.
He’s turned down multiple NFL jobs. The NFL doesn’t call you if you suck.
Moss was made his bread in yards after contact.
Huntley was an escape artist and ran for his life for a lot of his career.
OL was a major issue in the losses to USC and Oregon in 2019.
So why does Whit keep him around if he’s such hot garbage?
Good OL Coaches would be beating down whit’s door to Coach at Utah if he fired Harding.
AZUTE what are you Harding’s mom? Almost every season the Oline is a question mark, how many times can someone hear “they are young or we had injuries so next year they will be good” he’s the position coach so when they under perform the blame fall to him. I hope they perform well this year but if they don’t he should definitely be on the hot seat.
So injuries are his fault now?
Unless you’re Alabama or Ohio St multiple injuries to one position group will kill most teams.
Hey but I guess you know more then Whit who thought enough of Harding to keep him around and name him Assistant Head Coach.
Im sorry remind me again which D1 school you Coach at?
Harding is the worst recruiter on staff. That is a problem. He may not be a bad position coach, but he is almost certainly the worst position coach on staff.
I guess you know more then Whit?
Worst argument tactic ever.
I didn’t say he was bad. I didn’t say hiring him was a mistake. I didn’t say Whitt did anything wrong.
I made two claims. Can you honestly refute either one?
Whit has shown he’s not afraid to fire an underperforming Coach like Holiday so why does he keep an underperforming(your words) Coach like Harding around?
Especially if he’s a terrible(your words again)recruiter.
Cause everyone priority number 1 of any College football Coach is the ability to recruit. It’s the lifeblood of any program.

Can’t count last year the oline was decimated by COVID. Two days before the SC game was the first time they had all practiced together.
You’re forgetting that Huntley was one of the most mobile QBs we’ve ever had, his speed and elusiveness can sometimes cover for a weak o line
Just listened. Whitt said Jackson could be ready by Thursday as of right now, the walk-on is 3rd.
The redshirt is a weird justification. Costelli can play in up to 4 games this season and still redshirt. That can’t be the reason he’s behind Barnes.
Costelli didn’t play any football his senior year in high school. He’s going to need some time.
Doubt they’d want to waste one of his 4 games on Weber State.
So long as the OL’s at full-strength by Wazzu, we’ll be just fine….The practices won’t be as physical between now & then as they were during Fall Camp.
Thankfully, we have an easy OOC schedule.
