2008 National Champ replied to the topic If SMU Doesn't Get into the CFP in the forum Football 2 days ago
I just never saw a reason for the Pac-12 to eliminate themselves which was always the risk. Sure Utah and SC should have won their games to prove that they were the best team in the conference but those weren’t the stakes. It was always the faint hope that by beating someone you had usually already played that year would be enough to overcome…[Read more]

Two season ending injuries and not feeling like I was ever given a real chance would have me looking elsewhere if I was in Rose’s shoes. Would you want to start at ground zero with the potential of the new OC bringing in his guy to start over you?

Conference Championship game cost Utah in 2019 and SC in 2022. Both one loss teams that had an argument for the playoff until they lost the CCG. I’ve wanted those CCG’s gone for a long time.

Yep. same look as Colorado’s. I think it was necessary for Track & Field when that was in the stadium.

I think that’s already decided but the committee is rewarding conference membership over schedule. I’d rate Tennessee’s schedule at 112 and Indiana at 120, with South Carolina at 19 and Alabama tied for 5. You don’t need a committee if the only thing that matters is least losses in each conference. Just go with the 3-3-2-2-1 method

Almost. The parochial school was undefeated this year because they gained more yards than Kansas and scored more points in the 2nd half than Arizona State.

I’d put SMU ahead of Alabama.
#1 Oregon <— winner of #5 Texas v #12 Clemson
#2 Georgia <— winner of #6 Notre Dame v #11 South Carolina
#3 Boise <— winner of #7 Ohio State v #10 Alabama
#4 Arizona State <— winner of #8 Penn State v #9 SMU#13 Syracuse first out. #14 Miami (Fl), #15 Indiana & #17 Tennessee didn’t play tough enough…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic WR Bryson Baker Commits in the forum Football 2 days, 14 hours ago
follow up:
Cal didn’t take any receivers in their class of 14 (12 signed).
MSU took 2 receivers. One who had been committed since January, the other had been committed since June. And they have a third who has been committed since July but hasn’t signed yet. All 3 were offered long before Baker.
UCLA also didn’t take any receivers in their…[Read more]

Do I know if his offer to those schools was committable? No. Do you?

I haven’t looked at his page, I’m just talking in general.
So he committed on Wednesday, the same day Beck was hired, but didn’t sign yet?

You extend an offer but tell the kid it’s contingent on someone else choosing a different school. The kid is more than willing to put the offer on his instametatiktokchat because it brings him attention and will hopefully get other schools interested when they do no more than @Anfernee did and look at the offer list.
As I said above, if you were…[Read more]

You don’t think he can Tuttle himself to a couple degrees and maybe a championship ring?

It’s the timing. You have to do some serious pretzel logic to get yourself to him choosing Utah over the other schools you listed AFTER the early signing period has ended. Without looking at his commitment history, it’s more plausible that he received those offers but was plan B, C or D for those schools and when they filled their HS needs he…[Read more]

stop right where you are and slowly back away from the dark side! @Utah hasn’t been able to recover yet from getting too near my orbit and I’m afraid @TheMiamiUte is lost for good.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic 🌹 ROSE TO THE PORTAL in the forum Football 2 days, 18 hours ago
let’s see, Wilson goes to portal and Rising decides to pick up his checks elsewhere and the Andy Ludwig stink will be completely gone from the team. Beck can build out his whole room based on his philosophy and not someone else’s. That’s actually a pretty good way to start a new job, even if you are limited in how you do it by your boss. Which…[Read more]
