Obviously running the ball eats up clock faster than throwing incompletions, but nothing eats clock like getting first downs that lead to a long drive down the field. Our long drive that tied the game against Baylor featured runs and passes and it chewed up 9 minutes of clock.

Wherever Texas State is ranked they must be ranked higher than we are:)
They were much better against Baylor than we were. I would assume that we fall 5-6 spots.

It sounds like Wilson had a very tough first day. I am hoping that he does much better today.

I think that the only way we can have confidence that we will be in is for the conferences to find a way to get rid of the deadweights. For example, if Rutgers, Maryland, Vanderbilt, USF, etc. are out then we will be in.

My breakout picks would be Logan Fano on defense and Pittman on offense. If Cam continues to lock on to a receiver, it might as well be Pittman.

If the Pac-12 loses Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Colorado, we can add whatever schools we want and it won’t matter. We will be a slightly more dignified version of of the Mountain West Conference. Argh.

Not a gambler so I am not sure what these numbers even mean. Can someone provide a quick explanation?

I can at least understand that three PAC-12 tams have better odds of making the CFP than we do. That makes no sense to me.

My thoughts on the future.

Rose will be our starter. He will start a little slow but become a an outstanding QB by the end of the year. Our favorite pig farmer will be the backup. Johnson will make a successful transition to wide receiver. The QB from Mississippi and Wilson will battle it out for the heir apparent. Wilson will be the choice and the other guy will transfer. Bridges, Johnson, new recruit, or maybe Hagan will finally establish a deep threat for us that we will not relinquish. We will all look back and wonder exactly how we won when we did not have a deep threat among our wide receivers.
