The biggest problem with the rivalry is it spills over in to our everyday life. Other rivalrys don’t have to wake up with their rivalry flags next door.

Not a lot to play for at this point. This next game will show who wants to stay and fight or who wants to point fingers and walk away.

I agree National Champ. It all starts with the youth athletic programs. The birth of comp teams in all youth sports sends the wrong message. Getting the best players and winning is more important than playing and having fun.
It boggles my mind how competitive parents can get wanting their kids to win. Seems it’s trending in the wrong direction. Y…[Read more]

I’m old school. The term “scoreboard” applied when the losing team or fans started talking trash. Scoreboard meant we won case closed.
Saturday night a small group of BYU fans in the middle of a Utah season ticket holder section started chanting BYU while everyone was leaving. I said have some respect you’re a guest in our house. He pointed…[Read more]

Hopefully we will take what the defense gives us and not try and force something that’s not there. Take a few deep shots. We’ve had four games to figure out the blitzes and haven’t taken advantage yet.

I like the hunter. We just need a few dawgs on the field to tree the cougars.

All I can say is “wish you were here” to the Ute fans selling their tickets to BYU fans. The BYU fans will be “comfortably numb” after we knock them off. The “quest for perfection” ends tonight. Go utes

I’m with you Kellso. If your selling your tickets to BYU fans your not a true Ute fan. My seats would be vacant before I sold them to a cougar. There is nothing worse than getting to your seats and sitting next to an obnoxious BYU fan. I can’t believe this is being discussed. Only saving grace is watching them leave our stadium with their cou…[Read more]

Every person that doesn’t go to BYU should read cougarboard at least once. BYU humor is only funny to them. The rest of the world would cringe. They wonder why nobody likes them. It’s like a bunch of jr high kids on a chat board.

I never thought I would do that either. Maybe it was the fact he went out of his way to taunt at our house and I didn’t mention he was yelling “Blow me” when pointing at his privates. New poll was I wrong?

I’m taking a different angle on my favorite rivalry moment. I was a student in the early seventies sitting in the student section for the rivalry game. They had dominated us and we had no chance of winning.
The teams had warmed up before the game and were heading back to the locker room before coming back out. A BYU player took his helmet off a…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic How much would you pay? in the forum Football 8 months ago
I like how you guys think. Deciding how much a win is worth as opposed to possibly losing both. Taking the money line eliminates the chance of losing both with the spread(smart). I’ve been doing that with BYU all year. (8-0).Bet for them with the spread and if they win you get money if they lose you get satisfaction.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Legit reasons in the forum Football 8 months ago
BYU is undefeated playing for a conference championship and possible 4 seed in the CFP. They are solid on defense and create turnovers. Offense is balanced with the run and pass. QB is playing his best football. They are favored by 4-5 pts.
With that said give me the Utes. I’m putting my money on the Utes. We have nothing to lose and I can’t wai…[Read more]

Maybe we should hire Mitchell as QB coach. That offense was fun to watch. The defense was as bad as the offense was good.
