Lighten up chinn. Great points on the RB situation but the Cam kriptonite was for a laugh!! Yes we got three wins but two were at home. Winning on the road is much harder.

Great points!! Great qbs don’t grow on trees. Without JJ we don’t have a power running attack. Big difference between JJs 4 yards and Glovers 2 yards on our three up the middle plays. Also losing Bernard’s ability to be a dependable blocker and outlet for the qb. Perfect storm for a failing offense.

Curry could help if healthy. We are so close…[Read more]

I agree Proud Ute. Whitt knew we had an elite defense. He knew Barnes could fill in for a game or two. He knew the two young qbs are not ready for this crazy good schedule. I think he went all in on Cam. I’m sure he is second guessing himself.

He probably sees potential in NJ and Rose. I think losing them to the portal is also on his mind. I…[Read more]

  • Our die hard ute fan base will support who ever steps on the field to play qb or any other position. We all love and support the coaching staff and players who work their asses off to bring us a winner.

Our expectations have become high. Maybe too high. In my mind and I’m sure many others i look at this year as our best chance ever to make the C…[Read more]

  • I think beating OSU with the current state of our offense would be a huge victory. We are in prime position to lose. Pulling a W would be a big team effort and spring board us forward.

A loss certainly doesn’t illuminate us. Yes it could be a dagger to the CCG.

  • Everyone is right nobody is wrong. Great thoughtful posts on ute hub. My hat is off to all of you!! Bottom line if we lose to OSU our hopes of a three peat will end. OSU is much better than you think. Our offense is not good period without JJ and Cam. Sad but true.

  • We are a good quarterback away from a possible three peat. That’s what makes it so hard. Watching the penn state qb (six year senior) dissect our blitzes and change plays at the line and make us pay during the rose bowl. Shows how an average qb with lots of game experience can make a huge difference.

Cam is capable to make the defense pay for b…[Read more]

Ucla played right in to our defense by passing from the pocket. Our D ends Ellis and Fano are extremely quick and hard to pass block.

OSU is a power run first offense. UCLA didn’t have a power running attack. We havent faced a team with power running game (supposed to be Baylor strength). We also haven’t faced a scrambling out of the pocket QB.…[Read more]

  • Homer back then we were the must instead of the muss. Must come a game once a year. Brownie Van Galder was a must see QB. Lol

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Oregon State in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago

OSU will run at our D ends and try to wear them down. Fano and Ellis are a bit under sized. Their RB’s are big and run physical. Hopefully we get Van and Otoole back for some depth.

Our QB struggles to throw downfield (or maybe it’s the coaching staff that struggles). Our RBs Glover and now Vincent are undersized. We need JJ and Cam to win thi…[Read more]

OSU will come out ready to play. They will be licking their chops for a fumble or two from NJ. We need to protect the ball and don’t get behind. I agree with Sal we need to score 24-28 to win or more.

Is a 75 yard touchdown pass to start the game asking too much?

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Oregon State in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago

They beat us last time we played in Corvallis. They were down after the Gary Anderson debacle for a couple years. Similar styles. Should be a good battle. Cams experience playing in that environment would help🤞

I hear you. These are the kind of games that have haunted us in the past.

OSU gave up 400 yards passing to WSU. We need to throw the ball to win. Glovers 2 yards and a cloud of dust won’t get it done this week. JJ might be able to get 4 yards and a cloud of dust.NJ will see a stacked box and need to make quick reads and get the ball out quick.

We have struggled against them in the past at their place. My hope is C…[Read more]

  • So you think a freshman quarterback with a limited playbook can compete with the top teams right now? We just destroyed a top freshman qb from ucla.Sure reps will help with timing and maybe a few additional plays. Arm strength reading defenses take time and we don’t have it now. We want to win this year!!

If Cam is not healed and can’t throw the…[Read more]

  • Amen brother!! If Cam is ready to go Friday why wait? We have a better chance with OSU if Cam plays. Let’s play to win every game. Sprinkle some Johnson in there to mix it up. Cam can hand the ball off with one leg. Where’s Dr Phil when you need him.

  • Thanks Tony!! I really enjoy the knowledge and insights of this site. It’s great to be a Ute football fan and to see the success Ronny Mac Urban and now Whittingham have turned this program into a perineal contender. Go utes

  • I’ve been a life long Ute fan. My first year at the U Bill Meek was the football coach. Lots of downs turned in to lots of ups.

I normally just read posts but thought I might give a quick thought on the quarterback situation.

I get the give Johnson reps takes. No matter how many reps he gets this week his arm and ability to read defenses and m…[Read more]
