More time is going to be spent because it is the first opponent. I would hope with all of the time Utah coaches have to prepare they would exhaust it all on winning the first game.

Correct. USC was ineligible and Utah needed a kicker. I also believe Wolfman was injured for that game.  He then returned for the Sun bowl.

He caught a game winning two point conversion over Navy. Could have used him 2018 to catch when it mattered.

Chase Hansen was a one man wrecking crew that game.  His hit on JT Daniels that took him out of the game was one of the most beautiful and vicious tackes I’ve ever seen.  His subsequent taunting of USC and telling them to “get the f*** outta here” was EPIC.  Video clip for reference:

That does sound nice. I just dream for health. Utah stays healthy 1-11 for the most part on the offense and your wildest dreams come true.

I wouldn’t mind that all. Play action burner to Dixon done and done.

That whole LOSING 15 starters is a compelling argument for me. That is a lot of talent to replace. Yes Utah lost to them twice the past season. In fact I am the first to say Peterson pretty much owns Whitt. That loss in the p12 still can’t wrap my head around it….flukey ass play. I can’t even see that being replicated again.

Assuming Wilson stays healthy, isn’t BYU projected to be much improved this year than previous seasons? 

Also, Utah loses to bad teams occasionally during what is otherwise considered to be “good” seasons (Cal, Colorado, Oregon), so losing to a bad BYU team and then having a good season aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.
