Utah

  • It’s not that big of a deal at all. All it does is make the team that signed the 99 year deal pay a penalty to leave. Utah won’t have to pay that. Any team can leave, they just have to pay. Utah doesn’t.

But it is hilarious. It always hilarious when reality breaks through the fantasy bubble around that corporation and their little minds can’t handle it.

This is all about money. When it comes down to Vandy vs Utah, the question will be “How many people will pay $10/month to subscribe to college football network app?”

If Vandy has 100 million people in the state but 99 all watch Tennessee and only 200K sign up to watch Vandy vs 1.5 million in Utah who would sign up…

Then Utah is way more…[Read more]

Market size is wholly a cable tv construct. I’m sure you know this, but tv deals are paid off of subscriber fees. Utah as what? 3 million people? Where as NYC alone has almost 30 million people?

There are a lot more people subscribed to cable tv watching FOX and HGTV and other bullspit in NY than Utah, so if you are getting $1 per subscriber in…[Read more]

  • I’ve bought a few things from them. The shirts are nice and comfortable.

The prints…they don’t last forever. When you buy from there you are expecting it to last a season. Anything longer is bonus.

  • Man, I didn’t think Bishop would fly up the boards, but with his speed, he will go a lot higher than we think. Especially since that white guy from Iowa is looking like he’s a safety at the next level…when you compare DeJean to Bishop…Bishop is clearly the better safety.

Vaki…Vaki, Vaki, Vaki. He killed himself yesterday. He did not test…[Read more]

I sound like a broken record, but there is an easy, easy fix.

Stop pretending this isn’t a pro league. Let the players unionize. Create a CBA. Have a salary cap, negotiated salaries, contracts, etc. Every other pro league does this and is successful.

  • There is such an easy way to fix all this:

The playoffs, whether 12 teams or 14 or 16, take the top 12/14/16 ranked teams.

Easy. BUT, it’s not fair for a one loss G5 to make it in over a 2 loss SEC team. So, how do you fix that? Normalize the schedules. The easiest way to do this is to create one rule:

    1. You must play at least 9 P5 games a…[Read more]

  • I mean…he won a national title. What more do you want from him? He said the only thing left for him is to win a Super Bowl. He’s coached in Super Bowls before and lost. I can see why he’d still want that.

Hell, Saban couldn’t win in the NFL. If Harbaugh goes and wins a SB…he may be the greatest coach ever. Turning around SF 49ers, Michigan,…[Read more]

  • So California is at fault for not allowing athletes to be taken advantage of?

So, it’s ok for Saban to make 10 million a year and the athletes nothing?

Give me a break. Be smarter than this. This is another example of knowing a system is broken and doing nothing until it’s too late.

  • Unregulated capitalism. This is a republican’s wet dream.

This. College football. This is what republicans want for America.

  • That’s too many teams. It will look like:

    Utah
    Arizona
    Arizona State
    Stanford
    Cal
    Washington State
    Oregon State
    SDSU
    Fresno St
    UNLV
    UCLA
    Colorado or Colorado State.

There is no need to go bigger. You just add smaller markets, more mouths to feed which equals less money per school.

  • You can easily leave out BYU. They don’t bring a tv market, they aren’t easy to work with, their beliefs suck and are always wrong, their fanbase is dying off, their userbase gets smaller and smaller every year the more and more that comes out about them.

That corp will always have a presence in Utah due to how much money they have, but they…[Read more]

Nah. That hate, for me, is this:

Boise St went undefeated in 2004. In 2003 and 2002, they went 13-1 and 12-1. Yet no one talked about them. Crickets when it came to Boise St. Why? Because they don’t play anybody. Their SOS was never even close to being strong enough to talk about them breaking the BCS.

Utah? Utah scheduled up. Every damn year.…[Read more]

And Oregon State. The PAC-12 wanted to get rid of Larry Scott and Oregon State was the remaining holdover that led to a few more years of him being the commissioner.

  • USC could end up with 3 losses and in the Big 10 title game. They might have the easiest conference schedule out of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn St, Oregon, and Washington.

But their OOC is insane. Typical USC. Schedule up, lose, wonder why they aren’t talked about nationally.

  • I’m so tired of the byu argument that the PAC-12 was some terrible conference.

The Big 12 has always been as bad, if not worse. The only difference between the Big 12 and the PAC-12 is that the Big 12 was easy enough for Oklahoma and/or Texas to go undefeated/one loss every year and get into the playoff, whereas the PAC-12 was a lot better in…[Read more]

  • Yes…and no. I am grateful for the PAC-12. And I do have some excitement about being in the Big 12.

BUT, we are helping the Big 12 more than they are helping us. The Big 12 is about to die and for these teams in there to act all but hurt that we are over the top excited to be joining…when we will be the team that brings the Big 12 the most…[Read more]

  • Utah every year: We lost our best RB ever!

Utah every fall: We now have our best RB ever!

I think we will be ok. We may not have a RB better than Moss or Jackson, but they will be damn good because they always are.

  • Oh. My. God. The Oklahoma State fear in this fanbase is amazing. It’s impressive.

We rushed for more yards per game than Oklahoma State did last year, in a tougher conference and with no passing game. OSU lost to South Alabama and UCF and Iowa State. If you are physical with them, they shut down. They aren’t bad. Not at all.

    But all this “Utah…[Read more]
