What do you think of Alabama running their scout team with former NFL players?

I think it’s garbage and I hope the NCAA gets rid of that provision.

I wonder how much Bama is paying these former NFL players to play on the scout team. It can’t be as much as they’re paying their starters.

If you can do it why wouldn’t you? It’s a loophole I would like to see closed as its just another thing that benefits the blue bloods far more than others

But every rep taken by and NFL player on the scout team is one less rep for a player who really needs the development. Reps are precious, so while it may be helping the ones and twos prepare by facing top notch talent, the threes and fours are not being developed. I think it’s a double edge sword. If I were a #3 RB for Alabama I’d probably feel upset that my reps were going to an NFL guy.

So to answer the question, I think it does just as much harm as it does good.
