  When I give a thumbs up or down, will the message’s composer see that I voted that way? In other words, do I need to announce that I’m the one that gave their message a big fat thumbs down?

    This is a very good thing IMHO. A long time ago on another board I got harassed for leaving thumbs down before I realized that a poster could see who gave them the thumbs down. I just stopped ever giving a thumbs down from then on, but it always seemed kind of weird that posters could intimidate you into not taking away their sacred internet points.
