would have been an entirely different timeline if we werent playing behind the 8 ball after the first half q. Maybe Shelley doesnt come in facing a deficit on the road against a very aggressive defense in his first meaningful action and he can give it to moss and play action.

it just hurts how close this season was to being special. The ingredients were there. This is easily the most talented team we’ve had since 08/09. One of our deepest teams ever. The gap between where we are now and 11-1 with a rose bowl appearance is painfully small. We are a legitimate top 15-20 team by all metrics with a higher cieling. This is not the top 30ish team of 3 of the last 4 years where we had hoped to win the south and somehow scrape into a ny6. This year we were actually good enough to do it and it represented in a lot of ways. But when those 2 or 3 season defining moments showed up we didnt answer

maybe this will help us make those plays next season. We’ll find out in 12 months.
