Yellow and brown uniforms on blue turf? 🤢 And what exactly is a golden flash? Is it similar to a golden shower?

Judging from their helmets, a Golden Flash is either a type of bird or a lightning bolt.

That’s a good question Larry.  And here is the answer:  The “golden flash” is a “golden eagle”.  For now.  But this was not always so.

Back in the ’50s, it was a “golden retriever”.

In the ’60s it was “Grog” — one of the cavemen in the old comic strip “B.C.”.

In the early ’70s it was an Arabian horse (named “Raffstar”)…

…before reverting back to a dog in the late ’70s.

In the ’80s and early ’90s, it was a lightening bolt.

Now it’s an Eagle.  Again…for now.
