There is no one problem with the offense. It was t just the play calling (which could have been better). It wasn’t just the drops (which shouldn’t have happened). It wasn’t just the fumbles (inexcusable). It wasn’t just the QB playing poorly (and it he did). It was a complete meltdown. But the worst part is, the meltdown was because of little things. Our guys weren’t getting beat because WU was just flat out more talented. They lost because they didn’t do the little things right and do them consistently.

This loss was frustrating. Because it was right there and we didn’t take it.

Heres my perspective on fixing it:

      1) feed the RBs. They were getting good gains. Feed them.

      2) Huntley shouldn’t be doing RPO until he can make the right running read.

      3) WRs practice all week should be catching the damn ball. Ratchet up the speed if need be but catch it.

      4) take the whole offense to a sports shrink. We got the yips.

      5) feed. The. RBs.

Presumably the receivers practice catching the damn ball all year long.  If they can’t do it by now, is a week or two weeks of practice going to help?

Let me clarify that point, that should be their only practice and should be during their down time.

Utah had this game circled since the schedule was announced. To come out and play with “no identity” is daming. Either the staff spent all week trying to figure out how to pass protect and threw the original game plan out the window after NIU game, or Taylor isn’t ready for the job, and can’t call a game to his players strengths. Huntley doesn’t fit Taylor’s model, and the WR’s aren’t good enough to depend on.
