They’re 8-0 with half their games ending by mercy rule, and they also have six shutouts already. They’re ranked 17th and look strong as ever. We’ve been longtime softball supporters and watching Hogue turn this program into an upper tier PAC12 team has been amazing. I remember going to games during their first season in the conference, and they looked completely out of place and overmatched. Somehow they managed to pull two conference victories out of their hat, but lost 22.
They face #13 Tennessee on Friday and #7 LSU on Saturday. We’ll have a pretty good idea just how good this team is by next week. I know most don’t care much about girls sports, I’m guilty myself, but softball is fast paced and the ladies really get into it. Worth a watch if you have some free time, especially if you’re a baseball fan.
