ParticipantA lot has by discussed the past few days on the topic of injuries.
One thing I have noticed that may contribute to the reason is the size and athleticism on the players, particularly on the lines of scrimmage. They are bigger and quicker, and they hit harder. The line backers and running backs are the same. I don’t think the coaching, and the preparation has caught up to these changes. There are new medical treatments, but this is after the injury. Coaching needs to catch up but there is only so much they do to prevent injuries. -

ParticipantI was thinking the same thing. Get a QB in there who has a great deal of experience, who isn’t going to get rattled, who can recognize defenses. The rest of this season may decide the direction of the next few seasons to come. Also, in addition to the QB, the offensive line has got to get better, whatever it takes. At the start of the season, they were labeled as one of the best we’ve had. I know there have been injuries, but, they were supposed to be deep. Was that just coach-speak? If so maybe the off line coach should be allowed to retire also. WHATEVER IT TAKES!! I feel that we are at a crossroad, and, as I stated before, it must be addressed immediately!

ParticipantI agree on most of what was said, but,I didn’t hear anything about the O-line up to par. If you have a all league RB and the O-line isn’t playing well you’ll end up with a mediocre running game. I think the entire offense is not playing up to where it was hoped for. If it weren’t for the defense holding down the opponents scoring we might have lost one or two more games. Here we are with a struggling offense and a defense getting tired in the fourth quarter. Let’s hope the coaches gets better play from both the O and the D. Otherwise it’s going a long rest of the season.

ParticipantRecruiting + coaching + winning.
It’s that’s simple. I think it’s going to be a year or two more to get competitive in the B12 than what we had to do in the P12.
So I think that patience is part of the equation. -

ParticipantI heard it was a laceration, he was seen leaving the field with a bloody rag on his hand. That would be the least serious of the possibilities. Some stitches and possibly a week off.
