Losing Brumfield was a bummer. But THIS one hurts. I thought Wilmore was going to be Moss’ replacement, and Jordan was just going to hold down the spot until he’s healthy again.
When Donovan Thompson entered the portal Whitt said they’d let him come back if he wanted to. I don’t think that’s a blanket statement for everyone. They’ll make exceptions for certain players. With Jordan and Bernard, I’m not sure Wilmore will be one of those exceptions.
This is not what Whit said, he said after UW or Oregon St, I forget which, that Ty had won the job. Can’t disagree with this either, I haven’t seen anything from Wilmore to date that indicates he’s on the same level as Ty.
Wilmore was our 3rd string back, you thought we were just going to put him in over Ty Jordan when Jordan is averaging 8 yards a carry? Bernard in his limited carries has shown more than Wilmore has this year or last year, he doesn’t fit our scheme well.
Wow…where can you see the portal activity? Clearly something was decided and communicated to the RB room and it wasn’t just Ty is the man. Appears Bernard moved ahead of Wilmore and Brumfield on the depth chart.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this offseason plays out. Early signing day is coming up and tons of kids are entering the portal but there aren’t going to be many places to go.
