The 100 year winning streak is a nice monkey off Utah’s back. I don’t believe it is a point of emphasis that bothers me much. 10 total meetings in 100 years isn’t exactly that impressive in an overall view of the series.
I think seeing your team being completely spanked by Utah and Oregon St is more concerning for fans. Oregon st ran all over ya and Utah just did what it wanted for the most part.
Personally I believe it is an entitlement and pride issue within the organization itself. They want a flashy sexy hire to manage the egos of these young kids. Maybe a change in philosophy in general would benefit the program. They won’t ever lack the ability to attract top talent coaching is failing them though.

I wonder if there are some who wish they had kept Helton around to the end of the season?

I was hoping Helton was around as a Utah fan. It goes deeper than just him clearly.

I think they really whiffed letting Orgeron go. I am not a professional or anything but Orgeron just seemed like the change in philosophy they needed.

Orgeron is on the hot seat at LSU which has at least as much talent as SC.

Big difference between USC and LSU: The Trojans are THE top dog in the Pac-12 in terms of talent. The Tigers have to contend with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M in terms of whether or not you will be the top dog with talent.

Had USC kept Orgeron, USC is probably sitting on a national championship and multiple CFP appearances.

They spent a lot of money to throw away a season and they just as well could have let him couch out.

I keep thinking that we better enjoy being competitive with USC before they’re able to get a good coach that will get the most of all that talent. I’ve been saying that for the last 5 coaches. If I were part of USC nation I’d start to wonder if maybe it’s not the coaching?

Honestly I think the donors are huge part of the problem. Same can be said of Texas.

Is there a world where NIL makes it harder to manage player’s attitude? Becomes a challenge just like the donors are now?

Probably more benefit than a challenge…

You totally saw SC give up – soon the best of them will just “get a few plays, wait for their draft”

I didn’t see SC give up.

The difference in this game was Scalley finally being willing to drop as many into coverage as he could. Not getting beat deep kept Utah in it until Rising starting dropping dimes all over the field.

The game got lopsided but SC never quit.
