Is the Thursday afternoon interview with Covey.  He is a great person and a fantastic interview.  A couple of highlights from his interview today:

      – He has never been more excited for a game than the Oregon game.  He said the enthusiasm in the locker room is at an all-time high.

      – He definitely wants to be a college coach.  He does want to give the NFL a try first.  When that dream is over, he said he is ready to become a GA immediately.  He said he has talked to Whitt, Scalley, and even Kilani about his dreams of being a coach.  (I hope he never ends up with BYU.)

      – He said that he has never been in better shape and more prepared to play football than he is today.  He LOVES football.

      – He talked about the new charity he is working with that focuses on suicide prevention.  He mentioned that he has two cousins who took their own lives.  He would also like to get involved in working with autistic children.

      – He loves getting involved in recruiting.  He calls the kids and their parents and tells them about the program and the school.

I know that a lot of local sports radio is crap.  But, Covey is an exception.  He is fun to listen to.  Bill Riley asked him if he would go high when trying to block Thibodeaux.  He said he would have to jump to hit him high and if he hit him at his size – it would be in his stomach.

Is there an archive or replay or podcast of his stuff somewhere we can listen to?

We’ve got to do everything we can to keep him at Utah in a coaching role. He’s got the potential to be a better coach than Scalley, IMO.

If Covey coaches he’ll call nothing but trick plays.

No. You can tell that he understands the game better than most people. I think he’d be an excellent coach.
