  • And that cost us big time. But, we thought we had great defensive backs and we were dead wrong about that.
I have been a fan for many years and should know better than to drink the koolaid before the season. We just aren’t that great.  Oh well, life goes on.

  • Seems odd with so man seniors that we played that sloppy.

And only ten points. We can’t be doing that.

Bytheway, the Fox studio crew is so biased. Tough to listen to them.

  • Of course I hope/expect a win.
I think you will see Huntley run more tonight in the RPO than we have seen previously this season.  USC will focus on Moss and Huntley then needs to take a few opportunities to run.  I am not talking 10+ runs, but 5 or 6.
We get Covey the ball more this week.
    I don’t think we blitz a lot because I believe Scalley…[Read more]

  • You rarely can say that when playing USC.
We have three of the four D linemen picked to lead the conference.
We have two all conference D backs and Guidry who is our fastest back.
We have an experienced senior QB.
We have an AA running back.
USC has better wide receivers than us, but ours are good.
we have a more solid coaching staff…[Read more]

  • I found that very interesting.  He has it: Utah, WSU, Oregon, Cal, ASU, UW.
I still think of UW as 2 or 3.  I think the Cal loss is very misleading because of the extremely unusual circumstances of that game.
If Bill right?  Does this mean that the Cougars have a fighting chance?

  • As usual, not much new came out of the press conference.  When asked about injuries, he indicated that he “hopes” everyone will be back this week.  Did not say anything specific about any of the players who did not play last week.
He said USC is loaded with 4 and 5 star athletes.  (Nothing new here.)
He was happy with the way Huber played at…[Read more]

  • proudute started the topic What have we learned today? in the Football forum. 1 week ago

UCLA is bad, but we already knew that.
ASU has very little offense, but they seem to be very stout on defense.  They appear to be our toughest South opponent now.
Washington did what we expected.  It shows how bad OSU and UA are.
A poor Nebraska killed NIU.  I’m not sure what this means.
BYU exposed USC.  They outplayed and out coached them.…[Read more]

  • Blackmon didn’t play today.
Two offensive linemen didn’t play today.
    Who else?
OnlyU or anyone know if these guys will be playing next week?

  • But, I am more disappointed than pleased. I got a lot of thumbs down because I was disappointed with a few things last week, so I suspect I will get more thumbs down today.  However, I am not overly pleased.
The defense was fine, I have no problems with their effort.
We played great on offense as long as Moss was in the game. KW mentioned that…[Read more]

  • The score is 14-7 for Houston
Gordon is no Minchew. His line gives him all day, but Houston rarely rushed more than 3.
Houston is playing a smart game. They run the play clock down to under five seconds almost every play. This keeps the ball out of WSU’s hands. Houston has only had three possessions. They are controlling the line of scrimmage.…[Read more]

  • But, if we do schedule them, I would always play them in the first game.  It could then be used as a scrimmage and a tune-up for the season.  I do not like playing these guys in the third game.  We are playing down after playing two G5 level teams.  I do not believe this helps us get ready for USC.  We will be in for a rude awakening next week,…[Read more]

  • We have not been getting Covey the ball much so far.  I think this is by design while he gets healthy.  I think you will see little of him this weekend as well.  However, I suspect that you will see Ludwig get the ball in his hands 8 – 10 times a game after that.  He is a game-changer and we need to get him the ball.  We are certainly not hiding…[Read more]

  • because KW doesn’t want to say much.
We did learn that we are the only team without a turnover or a sack. Add the lack of penalties and you have to be pleased with the team discipline.

  • proudute started the topic Preparation question in the Football forum. 1 week, 6 days ago

No disrespect to ISU, but this is certainly a gimme game.  Will the coaching staff take one of the days this week and do some USC prep, especially since we will have one less day prep time next week and a road trip?
I can see pros and cons both ways.  I know that KW will say it’s one game at time, but that is not totally true.

  • It’s best for the Utes and the conference; however, I don’t want to see a blowout.  I would like BYU to expose some USC weaknesses that we can exploit the next week.  I would also like to see BYU wear them down.  I would hate to see and easy game where they get a chance to rest their starters.
    Go Utes!!!

  • We heard from OnlyU that this was happening.  I admit that I am very surprised.
    Thoughts?
If Huntley is down a game or two, will it be Lisk or Shelley?

  • proudute started the topic Would you rather in the Football forum. 2 weeks ago

Would you rather play a big name team that has fallen on hard times (ala Tennessee) or play a legit top 15 team like USC may be when we play them on Sep 20th? (It’s not BYU’s fault that Tennessee is not a good team this year.  They didn’t know that when they scheduled them.)
We all wanted to be in the PAC12 and play with the big boys.  This is…[Read more]
