Red Rhino replied to the topic Look at the Stones on Utah! in the forum Basketball (Men) 4 weeks ago
There are teams, such as UCLA and USC who may play at a stadium other than their own but are not on the road. That would be an awtheay game but not a road game. In the case of Utah @ UCLA, perhaps Miami is saying this because it is a win outside of the Wasatch front area. 🤔

I’m not sure he said he isn’t a fan of NIL or the transfer portal. He said he was a fan of the players making money. I believe he said he was not a fan of the lack of control of NIL and the portal. He has also said multiple times that this is the most fun he’s ever had coaching.

We should have the best RB’s knocking down the door to play in a scheme that features them. Where are all high profile RBs knocking down the door? That’s someone we should be paying top dollar for since our offense is built around the RB.

Maybe I’m getting old. I don’t remember JJ getting injured last year. This year it was the same injury all year and he couldn’t heal because he was playing through it.

I agree that the stats don’t back up my comment. We have to remember he was injured all year. It’s less a matter of stats for me and more about the eye test.

Especially need to block conference foes.

I respectfully disagree. If healthy, he is an elite level RB. Our offense needs someone who can break tackles. We also need to set a precedent of blocking teams from coming after our best players.
Red Rhino replied to the topic tranfer portal rule changes in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
A contract is a legal agreement, so college athletes need to decide if they are children with no consequences or adults with legal ramifications for breaking contracts.
Like coaches, player’s existing NIL contracts should have a time, (such as four years) attached to the contract and should have to be bought out if the player breaches the…[Read more]
Red Rhino replied to the topic Most overhyped teams in the PAC? in the forum Football 3 months, 4 weeks ago
If it is true that we were overhyped, we should see it as a great compliment. Typically that is a sign of an elite program. We have come a long way since the days when we often lost to teams the likes of UTEP and New Mexico.

You can tell that the rippled letters are intended to be flags, not signs. You could not print this out. I think it’s super creative and a great tribute to the Muss. I love the fans silhouette! I really don’t like the back though! The sign in the back is too much. Should have just left it off. Would love to see the native American headdress…[Read more]

It seems to me that once players get their cash, the fire, that used to make college football great, goes out of players. It’s hard to get the horse moving once you’ve given him the carrot.
Red Rhino replied to the topic What has happened is now past history. How do we move on? in the forum Football 5 months, 2 weeks ago
I agree proud. If the team has learned what they need to learn from the mistake, than it’s time to look forward and not back. The only point in looking backwards is to learn from our mistakes, but if we look backwards beyond learning from our mistakes, than it is a hindrance to our future.

Red Rhino started the topic Kyle is the Coach of the Whole Team in the forum Football 5 months, 2 weeks ago
In the 18 years Kyle has been at Utah, I can think of only 4 years where Utah’s offense hasn’t been below average and somewhat hard to watch. You cannot minimize offense for 18 years and expect to have offensive playmakers lining up to play for you. Receivers don’t want to be blockers and QB’s don’t want to be run facilitators. Last night, even…[Read more]

I have been trying to understand Whittingham’s risk tolerance better. I was reading some research done about risk vs reward in football. The research says that it is the inferior team who must take the risk. I read that the only way a more dominant team loses is because they beat themselves. This research sited the old Steve Spurrier Gators team…[Read more]

I love how quickly and decisively he starts running after he catches the ball. It seems like that split second of hesitation that other returners struggle with makes a huge difference in making the first line of defenders miss. It’s as if he’s able to watch the incoming defenders, the incoming ball and plot his route while the ball’s in the air.
