Matt Brown was interviewed on the Zone this morning. He knows college football, especially Ohio State since he graduated from there. He is very high on Coach Whitt and the Utes. He likes Utah’s chances in the Rose Bowl. He said that the mood in Columbus is not good. He pointed out that they are a bit spoiled and losing one game is devastating to them. He did say that the young players are anxious to show what they have, so they will come ready to play.
One interesting insight he had is that OSU has not been great in the red zone. They are excellent on long-scoring plays. Utah plays a bend-don’t-break defense. We do not allow a lot of chunk plays. So, maybe this plays into our hands. He pointed out that when OSU struggled scoring, it was because their red-zone offense did not deliver. OSU always generated tons of passing yards but this did not always equate to points on the board.
