Oregon new HC Dan Lanning

Interesting hire. Georgia’s defense was scary good this year with Lanning as their DC. But I wonder if a lot of that is Kirby Smart. Even so, Lanning would know how to bring the same defensive philosophy and scheme to Oregon.

Strange move. Ducks fans are getting fed up with coaches taking the next best offer after a few years. I could see this happening again.

If an SEC or ACC head coaching job comes up in a few years I could see him moving onto that one.

Gotta be Scalley after Whitt. He is the safest choice and easiest potential to replicate long term success. We all know his pros and cons. Safest bet to maintain what we all enjoy now is Scalley.

Yep, if it’s not Scalley, Utah will be replacing coaches every 3 to 4 years. Either because they get poached, or because they’re no good.
