      Week two of my power rankings; a reminder of my system:

      – Rank on wins/losses first; conference wins are worth more than OOC wins
      – Resolve ties based on ‘strength of schedule,’ which is a composite score of all games played, normalized (no penalty for bye)
      – Scoring criteria for strength of schedule:
      W = 5, L = 0
      Home = 0, Road = 2
      OW% 100 = 3, OW% 99-66 = 2, OW% 65-50 = 1, OW% < 50 = 0
      Opponent conference: P5 = 2, G5 = 1, FCS = 0
      Margin of win/loss (add points if win, lose points if loss): >22 = 2, 21-14 = 1, 13-7 = 0.5, 6-4 = 0.25, 3-0 = 0
      Bonuses (worth 1 pt each): rivalry, shutout

      1) USC 4-0 (10.625)
      2) UW 4-0 (10.25)
      3) Utah 4-0 (10.125)
      4) WSU 4-0 (8.5)
      5) Ducks 3-1 (8.875)
      6) Cal 3-1 (8.625)
      7) Buffs 3-1 (7.75)
      8) Furd 2-2 (8.75)
      9) UCLA 2-2 (7.75)
      10) Zona 2-2 (6.9375)
      11) ASU 2-2 (6.5625)
      12 OSU 1-3 (5)

      So, Gary Andersen is going to be coaching defense at TDS next year?

        Would not surprise me – it’s shocking how bad the Beavs are.

      How is WSU ranked below us? I thought they’d be #2.

        I was surprised by that too! Their wins graded lower than ours:

        Week 1 vs Montana St = 8
        Week 2 vs Boise St = 9
        Week 3 vs Oregon St = 9
        Week 4 vs Nevada = 8

        Ours:

        Week 1 vs North Dakota = 9
        Week 2 vs TDS = 12.25
        Week 3 vs SJST = 8
        Week 4 vs Zona = 11.25

        The North Dakota and SJST games are a wash; the difference is that TDS (on the road, by 6 and a rival) and Zona counted as better ‘wins’ than Boise St (WSU at home, only by 3) and Nevada (WSU at home, Nevada has no wins). Additionally, our P5 win (Zona) is > their P5 win (Beavs).

          That make sense. Crazy. You hear so much hype for WSU, I’d figured they’d beaten some good teams. Guess Boise St is a more impressive win nationally than TDS. 😂😂😂
