I am using ESPN for comparing and going by the most interesting or important for me.

2021 Rising was 63.8 completion % and has jumped to 68.8 in 2022 knocking on the door of 70%. For me this is the most important stat. The pace of attempts so far also seems like Utah will be throwing more by year end. This is obvious because the rushing game has struggled with TT, health, Oblock etc.

2021 rating 146.7 and it has jumped to 161.5. QBR is at 89.4 and that is fourth in the nation.

Yards for 2021: 2493 Yards for 2022: 1855 Yards. I think the discussion earlier was he going to make it to 3000? Yeah pace seems like he is going to easily surpass that.

      Other stats of note 21/22: 20 TD/15 TD; 5 INT/ 3 INT; 7.8 avg yds/ 8.6 avg yds

Overall he has improved. The USC game really gave him an impressive bump. He literally willed his team to a win.

Rushing is very interesting. Rising had 74 attempts for 499 yards. Already he is at 47 for 308. Averages are close to the same around 6 yards. But he had 6 TD in. 2021 and already has 6 in 2022.
This will probably finish around 12 TDs and I think he will get to 600 or 700 yards. He might finish with close to 90 attempts.

Huntley saw similar gains. He was 64% in 2017-2018 under Taylor and jumped to 73% in 2019, his first year with Ludwig.

You can’t discount the system which helps completion rate. I’d be curious as to what the air yards are in our system vs others. For example, USC clearly throws the ball differently than we do.

However, I think Ludwig is also developing our QB’s stressing accuracy/efficiency and completion rate is a key metric for him. It’s not a coincidence that both Huntley and Rising both saw significant gains in this.
