Gilmore is a JUCO transfer from College of the Canyons, in Santa Clarita, California (North Los Angeles County). He logged 45 catches for 950 yards (21.1 ypc) and 15 TDs over two seasons for the Cougars. He was rated the #7 JUCO WR in 2022 by 247sports.com. At Utah he will be a newcomer in a deep WR pool, so it will be interesting to how he performs in that competition for playing time.

Malone Mataele (mah-tah-elly) played in 11 games with 5 starts at CB for the Utes in 2021. He had 28 tackles (2.5 TFL) and an INT in those games. He played in 4 of the Utes 5 games in 2020, while in 2018-19 he had some appearances on special teams.
As one of 3 veteran CBs, Matele will play a major role in the Utes defense, being the primary option at nickleback. He is one of 6 Utes named to the 2022 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List.
